FAQPage JSON-LD schema
Implemented FAQPage schema on all pages. Structured content as Q&A pairs so AI can select it as a direct answer.
llms.txt setup
Added llms.txt to the public root, explicitly describing site scope, content categories, and restricted pages for AI crawlers (OAI-SearchBot, etc.).
Person + Organization JSON-LD with sameAs
Structured data for author (Katsuhiko Tanaka) and company (Amplest LLC) with sameAs links to X, note, and WordPress.org for external verification.
H2 headings reformatted as questions
Changed all H2 headings to question format ('Does this work for non-WordPress sites?' instead of 'Supported sites'). AI systems recognize question headings as FAQ pairs.
Direct-answer paragraph first
Placed a concise direct-answer sentence at the top of each section — readable by AI without parsing the full body.
About our measurement methodology
The data on this page is collected by Amplest Autopilot's automated scanning. Each scan sends pre-configured queries to the APIs of ChatGPT (GPT-4o), Gemini (1.5 Pro), Perplexity, and Claude (3.5 Sonnet) multiple times, then uses AI to detect whether the response text contains our domain, brand name, or semantically adopted content. Citation rate is calculated as the proportion of scan runs where a citation was detected. Scans run monthly (Planner plan) or weekly (Operator plan and above).
Copilot (Microsoft) does not yet have a quantitative API scan implementation, so no data is shown (—). Support is planned in a future update.

When did citations first appear, and how long did it take?
After implementing structured data (JSON-LD), llms.txt, FAQ-formatted content, and explicit author signals, initial citations appeared in Perplexity within a few weeks to a month. Gemini took approximately 1–2 months. ChatGPT and Claude took 2–3 months. Citation rates continue to grow with ongoing content updates and schema maintenance.
If I apply the same tactics to my site, will I get similar results?
No guarantee of identical results — citation speed depends on your niche, competition, content originality, and domain authority. However, implementing the four core pillars (structured data, E-E-A-T signals, FAQ-formatted content, llms.txt) significantly raises citation probability across all LLMs. Because we achieved this using our own tool and methodology, we can share a proven, step-by-step approach.
How are citations verified? Are the results reproducible?
Amplest Autopilot sends multiple queries to each LLM's API multiple times and uses AI to detect whether the response text contains our domain, brand name, or content. Because LLM responses are probabilistic, we measure citation rate (citations per N runs) rather than binary yes/no. The data on this page reflects actual citation rates from our scanning system.
Which tactic had the biggest impact on citation rate?
In our experience, the three highest-impact changes were: (1) FAQPage JSON-LD schema implementation — structuring content as direct-answer Q&A pairs; (2) llms.txt setup — explicitly describing site scope to AI crawlers; (3) author and organization structured data — Person + Organization JSON-LD with sameAs links to verifiable external profiles. Combining all three outperformed any single tactic significantly. Reformatting H2 headings as questions and leading each section with a direct-answer paragraph also showed meaningful improvement.
